Electrical Maintenance Team Leader

Job Description - Island Electrical Maint. Team Leader
Initiate cold/hot work permits and complimentary permits for works to be performed. Ensure that all necessary procedures and standing orders are followed while the equipment is made ready for safe maintenance intervention after Production approval
Monitors the activities of assigned personnel to ensure that their work is carried out correctly and to the required standards. Personally supervises any maintenance activity or repair that is particularly complex.
Drafts work orders for approval and consult with Manager - Island Maintenance Production and maintenance coordination to determine priorities in order to prepare a detailed daily work schedule.
Liaise with relevant personnel in Production and Safety Departments to obtain work permits before allowing work to commence, and advise Manager - Island Maintenance duration of such work. Liaise with other sections if the work also comes under their responsibility. Perform isolation and de-isolation of Islands electrical equipment s up to 132kv, ensures all the works on 132kv carried out safely and correctly. And with close coordination with UZ electrical supervisors on CC and Satellites
Be aware of programmed and un-programmed shutdowns to take advantage of the opportunity to complete any necessary maintenance tasks.
Diagnose complex faults, analyze malfunctions and breakdowns, in order to instruct technicians in the repair of a wide variety of electrical equipment; recommend and possibly implement necessary modifications to avoid recurrence of complex faults.
Ensures that Electrical safety procedures are strictly adhered to during maintenance and repair work, and inspect to ensure that all completed work conforms to statutory and company standards.
Assist in the development of preventive and routine maintenance, recommending changes of modifications to procedures depending on equipment performance and degree of breakdown.
Advises the Manager about need for spare parts, consumables and tools, drafts material requisitions for replenishment and follow up requests as required to ensure that adequate supplies are maintained for the task. Make recommendations concerning changes in stock levels or materials used depending on equipment performance.
Ensures that all maintenance and technical documentation is completed and updated correctly for any changes or modification. Prepares regular work reports and specific technical reports when required.
Implements and follow-up Development Programme of UAE Nationals Developees and regularly assesses them
Monitors the performance of subordinates and appraise their performance in a quarterly and annual basis. Subsequently, identifies training needs of subordinates especially UAE Nationals, initiate training activities for them, and may participate in such training.
Qualification & Experience:
Higher Diploma Electrical Engineering. With 8-10 years experience in maintenance in the oil or petrochemical industry or BSC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) plus 4-5 years of experience.
Good command of English language, written and spoken
